LANTUS® is a once-a-day insulin that delivers 24-hour basal coverage.

Basal, or long-acting insulin, is a term used to describe the slow, steady release of insulin needed to control blood glucose.

One injection of LANTUS® lasts a full 24 hours. That means you only have to take one shot a day to give yourself 24-hour basal control. Most patients take LANTUS® at bedtime, but you can take it at other times with your doctor's okay — just as long as you only take it once a day at the same time each day.

LANTUS® can be used for adults with type 2 diabetes or adults and children (6 years and older) with type 1 diabetes who require long-acting (basal) insulin for the control of high blood sugar.
